EbA

Ecosystem Services refer to the direct and indirect services that ecosystems provide for human well-being, or the benefits that humans receive from ecosystems. These can be divided into 4 main categories comprise Provisioning Services, Regulating Services, Cultural Services, and Supporting Services. This classification is adapted from TEEB (2010) and MEA (2005).

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) refer to actions to sustainably manage, protect, and restore ecosystems that effectively address societal challenges while being adaptable to different situations

in order to enhance human well-being while maintaining the benefits of biodiversity (IUCN 2016). These solutions comprise 5 main approaches

Ecosystem restoration approaches, Issue-specific ecosystem management approaches, Approaches related to construction or infrastructure, Ecosystem management approaches, and Ecosystem conservation approaches. Adapted from (IUCN and ONEP, 2022)
